Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Boone Health have reached a new four-year contract agreement. This deal ensures continued in-network access to Boone Health’s hospitals, clinics, and providers for all Anthem members, including those with employer-sponsored and Medicare Advantage health plans. “You want to find good partners with your payers, and we feel like we have a good partner with Anthem to where we can navigate the changing world together,” said Boone Health CEO Brady Dubois.
He emphasized that current patients experienced no disruption in their care, as they were never out of network. The agreement provides stability and peace of mind for thousands of Anthem members in mid-Missouri who rely on Boone Health for their healthcare needs. Anthem members with questions about coverage or provider options can call the Member Services number on their ID card or visit Boone Health directly.
Anthem broadens Boone Health coverage
Boone Health has also set up a dedicated phone line at 573-815-3000 for Anthem customers to access new primary or specialty care providers. Since January, Boone Health has added four primary care providers.
Dubois announced plans to further expand their team, stating, “We’re anticipating adding another 25 providers before the end of the year. We have aggressive recruitment goals, and then we’re looking to add another 75 to 100 full-time employees on the hospital side.”
Boone Health, one of the ten largest employers in Columbia/Boone County with between 1,800 and 1,900 employees, has also added another surgeon and physicians in Columbia and other mid-Missouri counties. These expansions reflect Boone Health’s commitment to enhancing their services and meeting the community’s healthcare needs.
Typical contracts between healthcare providers and insurers range from three to five years. Boone Health and Anthem will begin discussions to renew their agreement within a year of the current contract’s end.
